Ronit was Walking Alone
Ronit was walking alone. He looked down at the sand on the beach. Its particles were shining like gold. Maybe because of the rays from the setting sun. A cold wind blew and the tree’s alongside the beach rustled. Every leaf on every tree shimmered and moved differently but yet perfectly synchronized itself with the other leaves. He looked at his wristwatch to check the time but couldn’t take his eyes off of it. This wristwatch never looked so beautiful!
As the waves of water crashed along the rocks on the shore they seemed to create a rhythm. A melody of sorts. For a moment he felt like singing along but then came to the conclusion of not ruining something so perfect. It was at that moment that his heart realized his purpose and his brain plotted the exact map for achieving it. Everything felt just so clear. It was as if the entire universe was trying to tell him something. Man is this a moment to be alive!
The legs in his body did not feel like stopping. Suddenly there was a lighthouse just a few steps away. The next thing he knew his body was going upstairs. Every footstep loud and clear in his eardrums. His insides felt weird. Looking down he realized that the floor was moving. All this time a constant smile on his face. A protective covering, sort of a wave flowing around his palms. It’s electric.
The view from the top of the lighthouse was beautiful. It struck him at that moment. As if a message from the almighty. Ronit you are going to live forever. All the body is, is just a carrier. The soul is the real me. The breeze above the sea seemed to be calling Ronit. I am what I believe I am. I can fly if I want to.
The next morning the local police find a dead chemical engineering student near the beach lighthouse. In his pocket, a torn page from a textbook dipped in lysergic acid.
