“The best marketing doesn’t feel like marketing.”

— Tom Fishburne

In today's cutthroat world of competition what every brand needs more than anything is good marketing. Heck with good marketing! They need great genius marketing.

People these days are too busy and preoccupied with their own work and problems to give a f*ck about your brand or what you sell. The great story of how you are changing the world and creating a ding in the universe is something no one on this planet has time to listen. So how can one reach their customers in such a world? The answer lies in a place which many might agree is the most difficult one to reach: the creative brain.

Since humans have existed creativity has solved almost all of our problems. Creativity has created beautiful machines, life-saving devices, and industrial revolutions. So would it be a disrespect to the great art of creation to use it as a marketing technique? Actually… no! It's far more difficult to market something creatively than you would think! That's why most of the brands fail at doing so.

Interestingly this type of marketing has a designated name given to it. Its called guerilla marketing. Guerilla marketing focuses on how to catch the customer's attention in a way that the customer remembers the brand the next time he/she goes shopping. Guerilla marketing focuses on how less money spent can achieve the most amount of reach. One of the most important aspects of guerilla marketing is simplicity.

“Creativity is more than just being different. Anybody can plan weird; that’s easy. What’s hard is to be as simple as Bach. Making the simple, awesomely simple, that’s creativity.”
– Charles Mingus

Wikipedia defines guerilla marketing as an advertising strategy in which a company uses surprise and/or unconventional interactions in order to promote a product or service.

You know what, guerilla marketing is less about talking and more about showing. So let's do that. Here are some amazing and genius ways in which some brands have sold their products to masses by going viral and making an impact on the consumer's mind.

I was soo tempted to start drinking after this campaign.

Some of the best guerilla marketing is seen when there is an age-old rivalry between the two brands.

There's no way one can talk about guerilla marketing without talking about this brand.

Even the greatest of innovation needs marketing.

You could have made the best movie in the world but the most important task shall be filling the seats.

Nike is arguably the best in the marketing game than any other brand.

And now the king of guerilla marketing. For this brand, guerilla marketing is not a strategy but a necessity.

“Good marketing makes the company look smart. Great marketing makes the customer feel smart.” — Joe Chernov
